2021 Board of Directors Workshop


(West Chester, PA – August 12, 2021): This fall the Chester County Community Foundation is proud to invite nonprofit board members “Back to School” for the Board of Directors Workshop series. The program will take place on Zoom at 3:45pm every other Monday from September 20 to November 15.  

Developing an effective board is essential for the success of any high-impact nonprofit organization. It is vital to cultivate board members’ understanding of all aspects of nonprofit leadership. By doing this, board members can better direct their nonprofit in achieving their mission. 

The Board of Directors Workshop is designed specifically for nonprofit board members and will explore a variety of topics geared towards helping nonprofits grow and thrive. Sessions will cover the following topics: Avoiding Legal Pitfalls on 9/20 led by L. Peter Temple, Esq., Don Lynn, Esq., and Emily Temple Abels, Esq.; Diversity, Equity, Inclusion + the Board on 10/4 led by Zeb Davenport, Ed.D., Timmy Nelson, and Marrea Walker-Smith; Tech & Cyber Security: What the Board Needs to Know on 10/18 led by Erik Gudmundson; What Donors Look for in Your Nonprofit Financials on 11/1 led by Louise Schorn-Smith, CPA and Kathy Wileczek, CPA; and, Strategic Planning, Marketing & Fundraising: What’s A Board to Do? on 11/15 led by Karen Simmons, Connie Carter, CFRE, and Krystine Sipple.
