West Chester Juneteenth Fund

This year, West Chester has convened the West Chester Juneteenth Partners to enlighten, elevate, and commemorate the end of African American slavery. Our goal is to enrich and educate the community on the significance of Juneteenth. All these are essential as we continue Journeying Towards Freedom and equity for all.

Planning Partners are working diligently to create an exciting and robust line-up of events, including family activities, focused on journeying towards freedom. Most of these activities will be held from June 15-19, 2023, include (but are not limited to):

  • African American History Heritage Tours
  • African American Quilting Art Show
  • Discovering Your Roots & Tracing Your Ancestry
  • Freedom Festival
  • NAACP Juneteenth Flag Raising
  • Inspired Readings & Poetry
  • Journeying Towards Freedom & Equity for All Keynote Speaker
  • Journeying Towards Freedom & Equity for All Religious Services
