Matthew 18:20 Fund


Mission

“For Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them”
(Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 18:Verse 20, New American Bible)


Purpose

This particular Gospel verse it is often associated with teaching, learning and evangelization of the Christian faith. The monies entrusted to this fund can be used for a variety of Christian-based charitable causes involved in spreading the word and instruction contained within the New Testament gospels. Such charitable causes might include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Scholarships to help offset the tuition cost associated with the pursuit of Catholic (or Christian) secondary education
  • Scholarships to help offset the tuition cost of seminarians, deacons, and other persons whose mission is to evangelize the Christian faith
  • Financial support for established missionary organizations involved in the spreading of the Christian faith locally, nationally, or globally
  • Financial support for both formal or informal community organizations and outreach programs missioned to promote the Christian faith, particularly those focused on youth.

The intent of the fund is to give primary consideration to Catholic-based persons and organizations but the fund does not exempt giving to other, non-Catholic persons or organizations provided other charitable requirements are met.
