Mission Statement
The Jeffrey A. Wheet Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to provide a scholarship award annually to a graduating art student at Unionville High School in Kennett Square, PA.
About Jeff…
Jeffrey A. Wheet believed that the Visual Arts developed the whole person and worked to further the empowerment of students through his teaching of his philosophy of “IMPRESSIONS” to inspire the student body at large.
The scholarship is intended to honor the graduating senior art student who represents the spirit of Mr. Wheet in his work to encourage students to live by a philosophy of “leaving an IMPRESSION”, a positive person of exemplary character, who embraces the values of respect towards peers and self, and who leads by example.
About the Scholarship…
This art and/or art history student would have created or performed art in a manner that demonstrated the value of Unionville High School’s Visual Arts Department as a valuable educational academic area. This graduate indicates their continued advocacy of the visual arts after high school, either through their related post-secondary plans, personal expression, or support in communicating the importance of art in our culture, today and in the future.
The scholarship is intended to provide financial aid to the recipient to assist his or her post-secondary education. It is not necessary that the student intends to pursue studies in the field of art, but that they exemplify the values advocated by Jeffrey A. Wheet as described above.
