Over 95% of the Community Foundations grants are made through the generosity of each of our donor advised funds. While most of our grants are for general operating support, a donor tends to feel ‘connected’ through particular initiatives or programs of the nonprofit. Our donors may choose to fund any of the proposed grant requests below.

Cornell University – Proposal

Project: collect cases of fungal abortion and stillbirth in mares from multiple institutions across the United States and Canada to characterize histologic and etiologic features

Project: research proposes FE² (Finite Element squared) method where this multi-disciplinary team will use advanced multiscale models to determine how interactions between fascicles and the IFM influence SDFT mechanics

Shifting Strides – Proposal

Project: Characterize the molecular composition of hoof tissue in racehorses; Identify longitudinal changes in the hoof tissue proteome during the early post-racing transition period. Define the molecular response of hoof tissue to microbial infection in cases of thrush and other hoof-associated bacterial or fungal diseases.
