Mission Statement
Highly respected as a teacher, John Hay left his biggest mark as one of the area’s most successful coaches — not just with regard to wins and championships but also with regard to his positive influence on the athletes he coached. Hay spent 25 years as track coach at Henderson, 18 years coaching cross country and almost that many as swim coach. Under his tutelage, Henderson athletes captured numerous Ches-Mont League, District 1, Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association and Penn Relays championships.
Scholarship Information
The scholarship is given to s graduating senior at Henderson High School.
This senior must be involved with sports and community volunteering with a 3.5 GPA.
The recipient must aspire, first, to become elementary school teachers;
or secondarily, to teach grades K-12.
