Mission Statement

“… Joe’s focus was always on how the other person was doing…”

About the Fund

This fund was initiated in memory of Joseph J. D’Amico, Sr. in 2009.  It provides grants to charitable organizations whose missions and activities most closely reflect those that Joe believed in and supported during his lifetime. In its first decade, annually the Fund has provided scholarship grants to Catholic High School for hard-working, deserving students at St. Patrick’s Elementary School in Kennett Square, and Assumption BVM School in West Grove. Students are recommended by the School to the Fund Committee.

About Joe
Joseph J. D’Amico, Sr., was the Founder and Owner of To-Jo Mushroom in Avondale, PA.  A third generation Mushroom Grower, he was well respected among his peers in the mushroom industry.  Joe was a founding member of St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Church in Avondale, PA.   He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, where he was a 3rd degree Knight.

He was active with the KAU Baseball League, and coached youth softball for a number of years.  He founded the Annual KAU Golf Tournament for the benefit of the League.  He loved being with his family and friends, and his greatest passion was watching his children play sports and feeding the whole crowd after the event.

Congratulations to our Scholarship Recipients:
