Mission Statement
Lundale Farm is a sustainable farming community that serves as a place of inspiration, innovation, and opportunity for new farmers, landowners, and others committed to locally grown food.
About Lundale Farm
Lundale Farm is more than a farm—it’s a vibrant model of what’s possible when we preserve land, support farmers, and invest in community.
We lease land and housing to mission-driven farmers who practice regenerative agriculture, helping them grow their businesses while caring for the Earth. Located on 520 acres in northern Chester County, Pennsylvania, Lundale is home to a diverse mix of farmers, rich conservation areas, historic buildings, and a deep legacy of stewardship.
Beyond the fields, Lundale is a tapestry of partnerships and preservation:
-
The French Creek, a high-value waterway, flows through the property and thrives thanks to water-friendly farming practices, riparian buffer management, and collaboration with the Stroud Water Research Center.
-
The Horseshoe Trail winds through our land, offering hikers safe passage through conserved open space, in partnership with Chester County.
-
Our Sustainable Forestry Program is restoring 120 acres of forest once overtaken by invasives and dead ash trees—now rebounding as a healthy native ecosystem.
-
Three 1700s-era buildings on site are listed on the National Historic Registry, lovingly maintained as symbols of our enduring roots.
-
And at the heart of Lundale is the legacy of Sam and Eleanor Morris, champions of farmland preservation and local food systems. Their vision guides us every day.
We are honored to steward their dream—and keep Lundale growing.
Our Impact
Your support sustains so much more than land—it nurtures lives, legacies, and livelihoods.
Here’s what we’re growing together:
-
3 farmer families live and work at Lundale, making a true living from farming.
-
5 partner farms grow vegetables, raise livestock, and care for the land.
-
Trellis for Tomorrow, a nonprofit tenant, runs educational programs that connect young people to land, food, and purpose.
-
Our community events bring neighbors, educators, and policymakers together to witness the value of preserved farmland firsthand.
-
Funding helps us maintain and restore 6 historic and functional buildings, including 4 for farmer housing—critical infrastructure farmers couldn’t build alone.
Why Give
Because farmers should be able to make a living feeding their community.
At Lundale, your support gives farmers more than land. It gives them time, stability, and a chance to focus fully on growing food that’s good for people and the planet.
Preserved land like ours demonstrates how farming can thrive sustainably. It’s a living model for townships, counties, and communities looking for smarter ways to support agriculture and conservation.
But we can’t do it without you.
When you visit Lundale, you might meet farmers harvesting heirloom tomatoes, raising pastured pigs, or planting native trees in silvopasture systems.
What you won’t see?
-
The gravel roads we maintain so they can reach their fields.
-
The irrigation pumps we replace when summer heat hits.
-
The barns we restore so your CSA vegetables can be washed, packed, and stored with care.
We don’t grow the food—but we grow what grows the food.
That’s why your gift matters.
