West Chester Union Court Rental Gap Fund

PURPOSE

The purpose of the West Chester Union Court Rental Gap Fund is to pay a portion of rental money for the next year or so for low-income individuals and families who are in danger of being evicted from the monthly-rental community, Union Court.

BACKGROUND

West Chester Union Court Apartments was purchased by a new owner, who seeks to steeply and suddenly increase the monthly rental rate. The rents were to be doubled as of 1/1/23 and evictions were to begin in January. Union Court has been home to some residents for decades and they were only given 30 days notice of the astronomical rent increase.
