CHESTER COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION Recognizes Mike DeHaven, CPA


(West Chester, PA – August 9, 2023): The Chester County Community Foundation recognizes outgoing board member Mike DeHaven, CPA for his distinctive service and leadership. DeHaven served on the Board of Directors from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2023.

Mike DeHaven, CPA made many far-reaching and significant contributions to the Community Foundation. DeHaven led as Chair of the Board from 2020 to 2022 during the COVID-19 outbreak. His direct actions and responses helped guide the Foundation while growing community charitable assets held in trust to over $100 million.

DeHaven served as a member and Chair of the Governance/Nominating Committee which targeted and cultivated candidates to secure the future of the Community Foundation via a strong Board of Directors. Being a Board and Committee Chair allowed DeHaven to spearhead an organizational strategic planning process to refine the Foundation’s overall focus, direction, and aims.

He won the 2017 Door Opener award, which highlights an individual who initiates conversations leading to the creation of endowed legacy funds. He also supported the Foundation’s community asset development by making connections and serving as an ambassador for continued endowed legacy philanthropy.

With his family, Mike DeHaven created the DeHaven Family Charitable Fund and has made numerous grants to support charitable causes. DeHaven continued to lead by example, joining the Ben Franklin legacy Society.

Mike DeHaven, CPA has served as model for others through compassionate leadership, thoughtful wisdom, and an abundant generosity of spirit. The Board of Directors extends its deepest gratitude and appreciation for Mike DeHaven’s many contributions.
