GIVING NEVER TASTED SO GOOD – SWEET CHARITY 2024

(WEST CHESTER, PA – January 16, 2024): Imagine sampling the region’s most delectable desserts while meeting and greeting community members, philanthropists, and friends. Chester County’s finest dessert chefs will showcase their delectable creations on Tuesday, March 5 at Whitford Country Club. Attendees have the opportunity to sample delicious desserts while celebrating legacy philanthropy with the Chester County Community Foundation.

Sweet Charity is a tasty night out for a good cause, but it is also a serious dessert competition. Dessert chefs compete for Most Popular Dessert, Best Dessert, Most Creative Dessert, and Healthiest Dessert. Guests vote for Most Popular, while a professional panel of judges deliberate on the other categories.

This year’s participants include Cakes & Candies by Maryellen, Delaware County Community College, Dragonfly Catering, General Warren Inn, John Serock Catering, New Street Catering, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Robert Ryan Catering & Design, and Whitford Country Club. More dessert vendors will be joining the competition in the coming weeks. Winners from the 2023 event included Arianna’s Gourmet Cafe for Most Popular Dessert, Culinary Students from Delaware County Community College for Best Dessert, Robert Ryan Catering & Design for Healthiest Dessert, and The Master’s Baker for Most Creative. If you are interested in competing, Chester County Community Foundation is still accepting competitors. Please reach out to Beth Krallis for more information; bethk@chescocf.org.

“Sweet Charity is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate philanthropy while tasting delicious desserts,” enthuses Karen Simmons, President/CEO of the Community Foundation. “We are grateful for each talented chef who creates fabulous desserts, and the patrons, sponsors, judges, and volunteers.  Altogether, they ensure a successful 2024 Sweet Charity event.  Giving never tasted so good.”

Sweet Charity benefits the Chester County Community Foundation, which has been growing legacy philanthropy throughout the region for almost 30 years. The Community Foundation helps families and businesses become involved in charitable giving for the long run, by encouraging legacy gifts and increasing awareness of the needs and issues facing Chester County.

All are invited to attend. For more details about Sweet Charity or the Chester County Community Foundation’s philanthropic programs, call (610) 696-8211 or visit www.chescocf.org.
