Chester County Community Foundation to host Chair’s Choice

(WEST CHESTER, PA – June 4, 2024): The Chester County Community Foundation honors Outgoing Board Chair Winifred Moran Sebastian Esq. and welcomes Incoming Board Chair Zebulun Davenport Ed.D. at its Chair’s Choice Reception on Thursday, June 13. Guests are invited to Radley Run Country Club to enjoy delicious food, wine and beer, beautiful sights, and wonderful company, while also celebrating Community Foundation board leadership.

An attorney with Lamb McErlane at its Oxford office, Winnie practices Business, Municipal and Zoning, Real Estate, Trusts and Estates, Wills, and Probates. Throughout her term as Community Foundation Board Chair, Winnie has helped strengthen and grow legacy philanthropy in Chester County. During her time as Chair, Community Foundation charitable assets held in trust grew to over $100 million.

Winnie has served as a board member for the Chester County Red Cross and the YMCA of Greater Brandywine. Winnie is also involved with the Fund for Women at the Delaware Community Foundation, SOAR, and the YMCA Delaware. She supports the Lighthouse Youth Ministries and the Oxford Area Neighborhood Services Center.

Winnie’s family is also involved in community service, professionally and personally. Her son, Curtis, is a lawyer at Lamb McErlane focusing on Municipal, Zoning, and Environmental Law. Winnie’s daughter, Melinda, is a senior policy analyst at Data & Society focusing on structural inequalities in emergent ethical issues in media, tech, and information policy. Via their Randy L. & Winifred Moran Sebastian Scholarship Fund, the family annually awards a scholarship to a graduating student of Oxford High School pursuing a career in the trades.

The Chester County Community Foundation welcomes Zebulun Davenport Ed.D. as Incoming Board Chair. Zeb serves as Vice President for University Advancement and External Affairs at West Chester University, furthering student success at WCU. A strategist, planner, implementer, researcher, and educator, he has co-authored and co-edited multiple articles, manuals and books. Zeb has presented workshops for educational institutions at state, regional, and national conferences, as well as to thousands of college students and professionals. In nominating Zeb to become Chair, Winnie noted, “Zeb’s intellect, experience, strong leadership, and clear vision for regional philanthropy will lend greatly to his success as Board Chair.”
