(West Chester, PA – May 1, 2026): The Theodore D. & Elizabeth A. Hadley Fund at the Chester County Community Foundation has made its Spring 2026 grant allocations to 9 Kennett-area nonprofit programs that focus on arts, culture, and social justice.
Guided by its mission to promote the civic betterment, social welfare, and education of the people of Kennett Square and the surrounding community, the Hadley Fund supports opportunities for all who wish to learn, grow, and be enriched through lectures and other cultural offerings. Hadley’s grants reflect the values set forth by founding contributor Charles C. Hadley in his 1934 will, over 100 years ago.
Hadley Fund supports interactive cultural and social enrichment programs that bring together disparate groups of people to promote understanding, justice, social equity, and a vibrant, healthy Kennett community. Hadley’s funding priorities support progressive values, including diversity, inclusion, civil rights & social justice, arts, culture & history, to broaden horizons, honor creativity, and provide context and environmental health and sustainability.
The Hadley Fund carefully selected this year’s grant recipients in a competitive grantmaking process. The missions and programs of the organizations selected to receive this year’s grant awards reflect Hadley’s strategic focus and vision.
The following organizations received grant funding for arts, culture, heritage and social justice programming: Camp Dreamcatcher, Friends Home in Kennett, Friends of the Kennett Food Co-op, Kennett Collaborative for its Brandywine Pride Picnic on 5/30/26, Kennett Friends Meeting, Kennett Underground Railroad Center, Mighty Writers, MLKCommUNITY of Greater Kennett Area for its Kennett Juneteenth commemorations, and Tick Tock Early Learning Center.
