Mission Statement

The McBratnie family established a memorial fund at the Community Foundation as a way to honor Kathy’s contributions to Chester County forever. Kathy’s family and friends have raised funds to award scholarships to benefit programs for West Chester youth.

We hope to inspire others to join us in our mission to support outstanding children’s programs in our community. Two scholarships are awarded annually to the following programs. The YMCA Police Athletic League (YPAL) afterschool program offers free afterschool care and help with homework for over 100 youth in West Chester. The West Chester Recreation’s Send a Kid to Camp Scholarship program creates opportunities for children that they might not have encountered otherwise. By supporting the Kathleen McBratnie Memorial Fund you are investing in our children’s’ futures and the future of these important developmental, motivational and educational programs!
