Mission
The Susan Patrizio Johnson Scholarship Fund will award students from Downingtown West High School who are pursing education with a preference in special education.
About Susan
Susan Patrizio Johnson graduated from Downingtown High School in 1969. She was Homecoming Queen, captain of the field hockey team, and secretary of the senior class. After graduating, she spent many years teaching at schools in Florida. She started her teaching career in Physical Education before moving to Special Education. Susan was a leader in the classroom, in athletics, and in her community.
Susan bravely battled breast cancer before ultimately losing her fight. During her battle with cancer, she wrote about her journey. You can read her written expressions about her battle with cancer here.
