Martin Luther King Jr. Day, or MLK Day, is a day to commemorate the life and work of Dr. King. Dr. King promoted nonviolent means to bring an end to racial segregation and injustice in the United States during the civil rights movement in 1955. Honoring him and all did, every third Monday in January communities are encouraged to reflect on principles of racial inequality, justice and social change. On this day Americans are encouraged to volunteer to improve their communities. Below is a list of events in Chester County for those who wish to volunteer their time on Monday, January 15th and the days leading up to it. If we did not include your event, please contact bethk@chescocf.org to be added.
