Martin Luther King Jr. Day, or MLK Day, is a day to commemorate the life and work of Dr. King. Dr. King promoted nonviolent means to bring an end to racial segregation and injustice in the United States during the civil rights movement in 1955. December 4, 2023 (West Chester, PA). The place to be before the West Chester Holiday Parade last Friday was the Historic Lincoln Building. The 24th Annual Gettysburg Address Contest included six middle school students from local West Chester schools. November 20, 2023 – The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) is pleased to award the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF) $5,000 to be used for educational purposes. The TRF’s mission is to rescue ex-racehorses, no longer able to compete at the racetrack, from neglect, abuse, and slaughter. Further, TRF collaborates with correctional facilities in eight states to provide vocational training to inmates who, in turn, care for horses that are not suitable for second athletic careers.
