WHO: The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) is hosting its first Soiree for Safety, a festive evening of education, food, fun, and entertainment. The event will include a special presentation on equine safety given by Scott Palmer, VMD, Equine Medical Director, New York State Gaming Commission and Adjunct Professor, Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and TERF Trustee.

A proud supporter and co-founder of TERF, Ellen Moelis, is the chair for this event and has contributed a variety of luxury items and fine art from her collection to the live auction, which will also feature other unique experiences such as tickets to the 2024 Belmont Stakes at Saratoga and an Equine Therapy package donated by Fair Hill Equine Therapy Center. Proceeds will benefit TERF supporting horse racing safety research and education in the mid-Atlantic region.

WHAT: Created in 2013 by the late Herb and Ellen Moelis, the mission of TERF is to support Thoroughbred health and welfare by funding scholarships, educational programs, and equine research with a priority to make racing safer. Since its founding, TERF’s endowment has grown to over $2.5 million allowing for over 100 grants totaling more than $1 million.

Individual tickets cost $50 payable online: https://www.terfusa.org/.  Checks payable to: TERF c/o Chester County Community Foundation (The Lincoln Building, 28 West Market Street, West Chester, PA 19382).  RSVP requested by May 17, 2024.
