THOROUGHBRED EDUCATION AND RESEARCH FOUNDATION

AWARDS $10000 TO EQUINE ADVOCATES

The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) is pleased to award Equine Advocates $10,000 to be used for educational purposes. Equine Advocates’ mission is to rescue, protect, and prevent the abuse of equines through education, investigation, rescue operations, the dissemination of information to the public and through the operation of a horse sanctuary for slaughter-bound, abused and neglected equines.

In past years, TERF has assisted Equine Advocates in educating more than 700 local students through Humane Education by providing funding for supplies, workbooks, equipment, printing, coloring books, and more. Hundreds more will receive this education by the end of the year in alignment with TERF’s mission to support and promote equine education and research by supporting organizations that are educating the public in the proper care of horse.

TERF’s grants reflect the values set forth by founders Herb and Ellen Moelis during TERF’s 2013 inception. TERF’s current Board, includes co-Chairs Kathleen Anderson, DVM, and James Orsini, DVM, Margaret H. Duprey, Gretchen and Roy Jackson, Ellen and Herb Moelis, Wendy Moon, Anita Motion, Toni Orsini, Scott Palmer, Josh Pons and Lucy Zungailia.
