THOROUGHBRED EDUCATION AND RESEARCH FOUNDATION AWARDS $2000 TO MIDATLANTIC HORSE RESCUE

The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) is pleased to award $2000 to the MidAtlantic Horse Rescue (MAHR) for educational purposes. MAHR’s mission is to rescue thoroughbreds from feed lots and kill pens and transition horses directly off the track. After quarantine and careful evaluation, horses are adopted into loving homes as sport horses and pets. This image is an example of New Bolton Center’s standing robotic imaging computed tomography (CT) system in action. This system is one of the powerful diagnostic imaging tools being used in the bisphosphonate study, in addition to New Bolton Center’s new standing positron emission tomography (PET) system. The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) is pleased to award $ 20,000 to the Foundation for the Horse, the charitable arm of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, to fund graduate student research. In alignment with their mission to support and promote equine research, TERF annually provides grant funding to organizations that are engaged in the research of issues which impact equine health. The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) is pleased to award the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF) $10,000 to be used for educational purposes. The TRF’s mission is to rescue ex-racehorses, no longer able to compete at the racetrack, from neglect, abuse, and slaughter. Further, TRF collaborates with correctional facilities in eight states to provide vocational training to inmates who, in turn, care for horses that are not suitable for second athletic careers. $3.5 MILLION IN COVID-19 RELIEF AWARDED

$3.5 Million in COVID-19 RELIEF AWARDED TO HELP CHESTER COUNTY NONPROFITS RECOVER WITH RESILIENCY AND INNOVATION (West Chester, PA – December 10, 2020): Chester County’s Commissioners have stepped up to help local nonprofits recover from the impact of COVID-19. Through the Restore Chester County Nonprofit Innovation & Resiliency Fund, the Commissioners obtained $3.5 million in federal CARES Act funding.  The Nonprofit Innovation & Resiliency Fund was administered by the Chester County Community Foundation with input from regional funders, United Ways, and Chester County government departments.
