Benjamin Franklin would be Proud of this Philanthropic Student Group

West Chester, PA– At the Chester County Community Foundation, growing philanthropy is the core mission of all of those involved with the organization. One way the Foundation grows philanthropy is by working with our communities’ youth to demonstrate the power of giving back. The Foundation partners with the Honors Stewardship and Civics Engagement Class at West Chester University (WCU) to recommend the nonprofit recipient of the Benjamin Franklin Trust grant award. IRA Charitable Rollover

IRA Charitable Rollover The IRA Charitable Rollover provision has been made permanent by Congress!  Rollover gifts must be completed by 12/31 to count for the current tax year. IRA Charitable Rollover Basics The IRA Rollover allows people age 70½ and older to make direct transfers totaling up to $100,000 per year to qualified charities, without having to count the transfers as income for federal income tax purposes. A Historic Speech: The 17th Annual Gettysburg Address Contest

December 4, 2015 (West Chester, PA).  The place to be before the big parade is of course, The Lincoln Building.  The 17th Annual Gettysburg Address Contests included seven middle school students from local West Chester schools. Amongst friends, family and parade goers below, the little Lincoln’s proudly read their speeches on top of the Lincoln Buildings balcony.   The event recognizes and celebrates the 152nd Anniversary of the Gettysburg Address.
