Exton, PA – December 13, 2024 The Whitford Charitable Classic, a fund of the Chester County Community Foundation, is proud to announce the distribution of $76,000 in grants to 19 local nonprofits. Each organization received a $4,000 grant to further their impactful work within the Chester County community. The 2024 Whitford Charitable Classic, held from September 19-21, was an exciting weekend that brought together members, supporters, and grantees of Whitford Country Club. The event featured a variety of activities, including golf, tennis, and pickleball tournaments, as well as the much-anticipated Whitford Gala and Auction. The weekend not only highlighted the fun and camaraderie of the club but also reflected Whitford’s long-standing commitment to giving back and supporting its local community.

Kelly Hagelauer, Chair of the Whitford Charitable Classic, expressed her gratitude and excitement about the event’s success. “I’m incredibly proud of our amazing membership and the dedicated committee that made this year’s event possible. This was my third and final year as event chair, and I’m deeply thankful to everyone who participated, donated, and helped bring it all together. I’m excited to pass the torch to fellow members Taylor Young and Bill Penney as the new event chairs.”

A special moment during the 2024 event was the generous donation made by Whitford Fund Founder Bruce Hockman. Hockman provided a golf foursome experience to local first responders from West Goshen Police and the Thorndale Fire Company. Hagelauer noted, “Bruce’s thoughtful contribution truly reflects the spirit of community that defines this event. We are so grateful for his generosity and devotion.”
