The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of their 2021 grant awards cycle. With the vision and mission of bettering the life of Thoroughbred, TERF primarily aims to support students in pursuit of education in Equine Medicine and to fund research efforts which better the life of the Thoroughbred horse. The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) is pleased to award $2000 to the MidAtlantic Horse Rescue (MAHR) for educational purposes. MAHR’s mission is to rescue thoroughbreds from feed lots and kill pens and transition horses directly off the track. After quarantine and careful evaluation, horses are adopted into loving homes as sport horses and pets. This image is an example of New Bolton Center’s standing robotic imaging computed tomography (CT) system in action. This system is one of the powerful diagnostic imaging tools being used in the bisphosphonate study, in addition to New Bolton Center’s new standing positron emission tomography (PET) system.
